List of Areas Where Class Suspension Is Implemented Amid Fight Against Coronavirus

CLASS SUSPENSION – Some local government units decided to suspend classes amid the fight against the 2019 novel coronavirus.

The Philippines is one of the countries that was reached by the 2019 novel coronavirus, a disease that was first recorded in China. Wuhan City in Hubei Province in China is now under its outbreak.

Also called nCoV, the 2019 novel coronavirus has infected nearly 8,000 people in China now. This disease that bears symptoms similar to the signs of flu has cost the life of 425 people in China, one (1) in the Philippines, and one (1) in Hong Kong.

Currently, there are at least 100 people monitored in the Philippines for suspected coronavirus cases. In line with the fight against the said disease, some local government units and schools have decided to suspend classes.

Class Suspension

In this article, we will continue to update the list of areas that implements a class suspension in line with the fight against the 2019 novel coronavirus. Here are the areas and the specific dates when classes are put on hold for the safety of everyone:

All Levels

  • Negros Oriental (February 5-7, 2020)
    • Based on a post on Negros Daily Bulletin, Provincial Governor Roel Degamo suspended the classes for three (3) days. At least 25 people are observed for possible nCoV infection.
