DOH Confirms 3rd Coronavirus Case in the Philippines
3RD CORONAVIRUS CASE IN THE PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the third case of the 2019 novel coronavirus in the Philippines.
The 2019 novel coronavirus has undeniably alarmed not only China but as well as several other countries including the Philippines. Its outbreak has reached PH with the first case of coronavirus confirmed last week.
The first confirmed case of the nCoV in the Philippines is a Chinese woman aging 38 years old. She was from Wuhan who flew to Hong Kong and then the Philippines.
The woman was with her partner, a 44-year-old Chinese man. From Hong Kong, they arrived in Cebu last January 21. They have also visited Dumaguete City before they flew to Manila.
Last January 25, the couple was admitted at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila. Just a few days after it, on Sunday, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that the companion of the woman who tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus died.
Recently, an update about the 2019 novel coronavirus crossed the surface. Based on Bombo Radyo Bacolod, the DOH just confirmed the 3rd coronavirus case in the Philippines.
In the post, it is stated that the patient is a Chinese national aging 60 years old. There are still no other information regarding the foreigner. More updates may be posted soon.
Update:
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the patient who is the 3rd confirmed case of coronavirus in the Philippines has already returned to China. According to the Department of Health (DOH), she was discharged after a previous sample taken in January 24 tested negative.
However, the patient tested positive on the first test sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). It was on February 3 when the results were released. The patient has already flew back to China last January 31.
