Latest Count of Suspected Cases on Coronavirus in PH from DOH

DOH – The Department of Health revealed the latest count of the suspected coronavirus cases in the Philippines.

Several countries across the globe now are intensely monitoring the cases of coronavirus following confirmation on some patients. More than fifteen (15) countries have more than one (1) confirmed case of the disease that was first recorded in China.

It was in Wuhan City when the nCoV was first recorded. Bearing the flu-like symptoms such as cough, fever, and shortness of breath, it is suspected that the cause of the disease is the bat soup serve in the market of Wuhan.

Currently, Wuhan City is under a lock-down. Nearly 8,000 people are being monitored for coronavirus infection while 160 individuals lost their lives.

One of the countries that recently confirmed its first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus is the Philippines. The patient is a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan, China.

The travel of the patient was backtracked. She came from Wuhan and entered the Philippines through a flight from Hong Kong. She visited several areas in the country like Cebu and Dumaguete before she was admitted in a hospital in Manila.

Currently, the Department of Health (DOH) is tracing the people who were in contact with the patient. According to the department, they will be put under mandatory quarantine.

Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the DOH also revealed the latest count of the suspected coronavirus cases in the Philippines. It is at 31 including the Chinese woman who is positive for nCoV.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has already declared a global health emergency due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Face masks and disinfectant products are now running out of stocks.
