Darren Espanto Is Philippines’ Representative In China’s “Singer 2020”

Darren Espanto will be competing inChina’s “Singer 2020”.

DARREN ESPANTO – Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto will represent the country to compete in China’s famous singing competition “Singer 2020”.

Last 2018, “Soul Supreme” KZ Tandingan impressed Chinese crown when she joined “Singer 2018”. This is among the biggest and most popular competition in China. During KZ’s time, it was Jessie J who was hailed as the winner.

KZ on her first performance landed on the first spot with her “Rolling In The Deep” singing, followed by fist-pumping rendition of “Real Gone”, and “Royals“. However, she got eliminated at the 9th week and returned singing “Anak” in the breakout round.

And now, Darren Espanto will take her place as our country’s representative in the said competition for this year according to PUSH. Meanwhile, this is not Darren’s first time to appear in that Chinese program. On previous article, he appeared and performed at the finals of the “Singer 2019” as a guest performer.

He joined Russian singer Polina Gagarina as well as Kazakhstani child singer Daneliya Tuleshova and Chinese rapper Air and they all belted out “We Are the World”. Accordingly, he was contacted through his record label. He flew, met the director and the team, and sang a few songs. And just a couple of weeks later on, he was asked if he can be a guest performer for the finals and he was elated.

Darren, as a singer, started at 12 years old when he tried his luck in “The Voice Kids” Philippines. After that, he is now an actor, an endorser, a model, and a part of the talent arm of ABS-CBN Star Magic. He is famous for singing songs such as In Love Ako Sa’yo, Stuck, Makin’ Moves, Chandelier, Dying Inside To Hold You, and many more.
