Taal Volcano To Be Declared “No Man’s Land” By The Government
TAAL VOLCANO – The devastating eruption of Taal Volcano has led the government to declare the volcano island a “No Man’s Land”.
According to Inquirer, in a situation briefing on the volcano’s eruption on Tuesday evening, Delfin Lorenzana, Department of National Defense secretary, disclosed that President Rodrigo Duterte recently approved the recommendation to ban people from living on the island.
“Duterte have approved a recommendation a while ago, I believe that we should, I strongly believe, recommend that we strictly implement the suggestion or the recommendation that Taal Island will be declared no man’s land,”
“Pagka babalik yung tao dun, if there will be another explosion or violent, I think all people will perish on the island,”
As per the report, The volcano is currently on Alert Level 4 for the third day. this would mean that a violent eruption that is approaching might occur within hours or days.
About 30,000 locals from Batangas and Cavite after Taal’s unrest. Most of them came from the municipality of Talisay and San Nicolas in the province of Batangas.
The province has been placed under a state of calamity prior to Taal’s activity.
