Two Men Dead In Separate Shooting Incidents In Cebu City

CEBU CITY – Separate shooting incidents in Cebu City, Cebu has left with two fatalities on Tuesday (January 7).

According to GMA’s Balitambayan, the fatalities were identified as Arnold Estenor Albano, aged 34 years and a habal-habal driver; and Arnel Asentista Salandron, aged 31 years and a rice vendor.

Police reports show that Albano was posting his organization’s tarpaulin or poster when an unidentified man approached and shot him. Albano received two shots in his right chest and mouth, respectively.

Three fired cartridges cases and two metal slugs from a hunched .45 caliber gun was recovered at the scene of the crime. The incident happened at Barangay Basak, San Nicolas at 12:45 noon. The motive for the crime was reported to be a personal grudge.

Based on the report, few hours after, Salandron was shot at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Police reports show that he was walking on the street selling his merchandise when two suspects, identified as Roberto Oliveros at Juros Entera from Sitio All Season, Barangay Cogon, Pardo, followed him.

Oliveros then shot him twice, while Entera served as the lookout. Salandron was shot in his right eye. The gun Oliveros used is yet to be identified.

The suspects were reported that they stole the victim’s wallet which contained the money Salandron earned from his merchandise. The police are currently searching for the two.

According to Daria Albores, the victim’s sibling, Salandron was sometimes mistaken for an asset by the police, which is said to be one of the possible causes that he was killed.
