Fisherman’s Dead Body Found In Resort In Negros Oriental

NEGROS ORIENTAL – A decomposed body of a fisherman was found in an abandoned resort in Santa Catalina town, Negros Oriental.

According to GMA’s Cebu Daily News, police are currently probing whether or not there is a foul play involved in the death of a fisherman, who was found in a room of the aforementioned resort in Sitio Litid, Barangay Manalongon, Santa Catalina.

Police Colonel Julian Entoma, Negros Provincial Police Office director said that the initial investigations show that the fisherman, identified as Bernave Tañedo, had no permanent address and had been transferring from one house to another.

He added that they are currently conducting a thorough investigation on the background of the fisherman and how he died.

Police reports show that his body was identified by his elder brother Samuel Tañedo.

As per the article, it also shows that police investigators went to an abandoned resort after receiving a call about a decomposed body on a floor of the resort. The victim is said to have died 5 days ago.

Police also recovered a a bloodied hunting knife, a wooden bolo, and a mobile phone inside the room. They were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for forensic examination.
