As of the moment, according to PAGASA, Ursula is packed with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 160 kilometers per hour.

It is currently moving west-northwest at 15 kph and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning.

As the 21st and last storm to enter PAR and is dubbed as the “Christmas storm”, Ursula left with 11 fatalities and 16 missing from two separate provinces.

According to ABS-CBN, four were killed in Eastern Samar, while four individuals, identified as fishermen who left on December 18 (Wednesday), remain missing.

Eastern Samar provincial administrator Nelson Cortez added that one fisherman testified that the group was on their way home. They were near the shoreline of Borongan City on December 24 evening when their boat sank after catching about 300 kilos of fish.

Based on the report, Cortez further said that the storm surges washed out the houses in the coastal towns, while power has yet to be restored in towns in the southern portion of the aforementioned province.

In another separate news from ABS-CBN, the typhoon also left with 7 fatalities and 12 people missing in the province of Iloilo.

Provincial disaster office head Jery Byuna said that most of the fatalities were from the town of Batad, where a family aimed to head to higher ground only to get caught by flashflood.

“‘Yung biglaang pagbuhos ng ulan in a matter of 3 hours, pagbaba ng tubig dun dumaan sa kanila. Hindi ‘yun daanan ng tubig normally,”

“Maybe as a result of the masyadong makapal na ulap, masyadong malakas na ulan, resulting in flashflood. ‘Yung bundok nila dun naging kaingin, nagresult ng flashflood.”

As per the report, about 375 families fled their homes due to Ursula, as stated by Byuna.
