ROXANNE BARCELO – Actress Roxanne Barcelo Plays the role of a transgender woman in the “love wins” movie titled ‘Love Is Love.’
Filipino-American singer, model and actress Roxanne Barcelo joined the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother in 2006. She is also known for playing the role of Natalie Alcantara in Maja Salvador’s hit drama ‘Wildflower.’
Recently, the 34-year-old celebrity joined as one of the contestants of ‘It’s Showtimes’ singing contest “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.” Now, she’s promoting her latest movie “Love is Love” directed by GB Sampedro.
Roxanne Barcelo was interviewed during the press conference of her upcoming movie ‘Love Is Love’ where she plays a transgender. Based on a report from Inquirer, the actress said she will give her best to honor her father. Her dad died in July this year and she still cries whenever she talks about him. “I will give my all to honor him,” she said.
According to the report, Roxanne Barcelo answered the question of why she immediately went back to work after her father’s death. She said it’s her way of coping up with the pain and it already became a “form of therapy for her.”
“I told Direk GB that I will give my all to this project (‘Love is Love’). All the pain and loss I’m feeling, I will divert into the most creative way possible. I am blessed and have no right to complain, so I will work hard. I will not allow this hardship to shake me, but I will allow it to turn me into the best person I can possibly be,” she said.
Based on the report, Roxanne Barcelo revealed that the role that was given to her was quite easy for her. She said she had been “digging and discovering” about transgender women for years now. She never expected that she would play as transgender one day.
“Normally, when you take on a role, you are given only a short period of time to prepare for it. But in this case, I had many years of experience digging and discovering about them (transgender women) without knowing that I would one day play one…”
“I would ask questions because I was simply curious and I really wanted to understand,” she added.
