Zamboanga Sibugay Hit by Earthquake with 3.8 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.8 magnitude quake in Zamboanga Sibugay, November 16, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Zamboanga Sibugay. At 01:02 am on November 16, 2019, Olutanga was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8. No intensities were recorded of the said quake.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Zamboanga Sibugay was located at 07.23°North, 122.69°East – 021 km South 62° West of Olutanga. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 013 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that there are no damages and aftershocks expected from the quake. Keep safe everyone. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
