Sen. Koko Pimentel Cries At Late Dad Former Sen. Nene Pimentel’s Necrological Service
KOKO PIMENTEL – Senator Aquilino Pimentel III was in tears during the necrological service for his late father, former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr.
Last October 20, the Philippines and the Filipino lost a man who has done a lot of things for the love of public services. Former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel died after several days of being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Pimentel was confirmed to be on the hospital on Tuesday – when the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) asked for prayers for him. He was admitted due to lymphoma and pneumonia.
On Sunday, one of the children of former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel, Sen. Koko Pimentel, confirmed that his father passed away. Through a social media post, the younger Pimentel expressed their family’s gratitude for everyone who was part of his father’s life. They also requested prayers for him.
A lot of people paid their respect to the late former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel. One of those who came to visit his wake is President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The Pres. Duterte is from the ruling party, PDP-Laban, founded by the late former Senate President. He is the chairman of the political party while Senator Koko is the current chairman.
Recently, based on a video posted on the Facebook page of ABS-CBN News, a necrological service was held for late former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel. His son, Sen. Koko Pimentel, was in tears as he delivered his speech.
The younger Pimentel stressed that his father is his mentor. He stressed that he has learned a lot from him including the love for his fellowmen and country. A lot of people in the Senate were also emotional as the Senator spoke about his father.
“We do not want this happen but it will happen and it has happened. That is life,” the Senator said in tears.
Based on the video, Sen. Pimentel expressed that his father has lived a fulfilled life. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him achieve his dreams for the country – a fairer, more productive Philippines.
