Pres. Duterte Visits Wake of Former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte paid respect to the late former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr.
One of the most prominent senators in the Philippine politics is former Senator Nene Pimentel. He was the founder of the political party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
Also, Pimentel has served the chamber of Senate as its President. His son, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, is also a former Senate President who was succeeded by current Senate Pres. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
On Tuesday, sad reports about former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel crossed the surface. He was brought to the hospital and was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). There were no abrupt reports about the specific reason.
Prayers for the recover of former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel poured out. A lot of people also extended their love and support for the former Senator and his family.
On Sunday, former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel died. Based on a report on Business World, his son Sen. Koko Pimentel revealed that he was rushed to the hospital due to lymphoma and pneumonia.
Recently, after arriving in the Philippines from Japan, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte paid respect to former Senate Pres. Nene Pimentel. The President is the current chairmen of the party founded by the late Senator.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the President cut his Japan trip short due to “unbearable pain”. When they arrived in the country, he and his entourage went straight to Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.
