She said that her group doesn’t condemn the clearing operations done by BuCor. Pangilinan added that what they’re fighting for is the human rights of inmates.

She stated that authorities cut the delivery supply of mineral water. This caused a lot of complications including sickness and dehydration.

Pangilinan added that the mineral water was paid for by the inmates just so they could have clean water. She also said that the authorities threw out the clothes of the inmates.

Based on reports from ABS-CBN, she then said that authorities also threw out the food meant for the inmates on October 9. Pangilinan stated that a stricter system was implemented for getting medicine.

Pangilinan stated that her husband had gone 12 days without taking his needed medicine.”Tao din naman sila eh, ‘yung mga pangunahing pangangailangan sana naman hindi naapektuhan ‘yun“, she said.

Rodolfo Diamante, executive secretary of the Commission on Prison Pastoral Care of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, said BuCor should focus on finding out who’s smuggling contraband.
