Lea Salonga reacts to controversial post of TNT contestant against Louie Ocampo.
LEA SALONGA – The Broadway Diva Lea Salonga has this reaction over the controversial “Composer ka lang” Tweet of contestant against Louie Ocampo.
In a previous article, the Tawag Ng Tanghalan contestant Shantal Cuizon lambasted online for degrading the music industry’s icon Louie Ocampo as a composer. Her controversial Tweets made rounds online, thus, badly bashed. This was after she narrowly survived a “gong” because of her pitch and off-key mistakes on her performance during the TNT semi-finals.
The master composer Louie Ocampo himself mocked it when he returned as a judge in TNT as he said, “Sorry. Composer lang ako. Hindi ako makaisip eh.” To which drew laughter from the audience and the viewers.
With this, the Broadway Diva Lea Salonga has reacted to it saying that she felt bad over controversial posts against the music icon. In a report from PEP, the internationally renowned theater actress expressed, “My gosh! First of all, don’t say blank ka lang to anyone in any profession because minamaliit mo ang propesyon ng iba, when every profession is one of dignity so huwag mong ila-lang ang kahit sino.”
She added, “And then to say that about Louie Ocampo? I was mortified when I heard about it. It made me feel really bad.”
The Diva further added that she’s been working with Maestro Louie for so many years now and looking down at the profession of people who are close to her makes her feel bad because “they don’t have any idea who these people are.”
Shantal publicly apologized the following day but most people found it insincere and she got eliminated failing to move to the competition’s grand finals.
