What could be the details we have missed from the Disney story “The Little Mermaid”?

DISNEY STORY – Here are some facts and details which we have probably missed from the old classic tale of Walt Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”.

We all grew up with the happy ending of every Disney fairy tales but from the origin of the stories, every ending is far from what we have actually known. And one of our all-time favorite is the story is that of Ariel’s, “The Little Mermaid”.

Here are some unknown facts about this story:

  • Ariel is a mermaid who fell in love with a human, Prince Eric. She fell deeply that she exchanged her beautiful voice for a pair of legs just to be with him. And this animated film is based on a fairy tale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.
  • Ursula is the name of the sea witch but she did not just taken Ariel’s voice, she also took out her tongue leaving her incapable of speaking. And with the pair of legs she had, every steps feels like a sharp knife is cutting her through. In this condition, the Prince even made her to dance for his wedding.

  • From the original story, she was actually tortured when eight oysters attached themselves to her tail. And her sisters, they might have done something beautiful for her, actually sing songs about the joy of drowning sailors. At the later part of the story, her sisters gave up their hair for her to bring back her tail.
  • They don’t have souls, and Ariel, in order to have one, needs to kill the prince but she wasn’t able to do so as she can’t possibly kill the man she loves the most. His blood will bring back her tail but the mermaid opted to just dissolve and turn to sea foam.
  • The mermaid only two has options by making a deal with the sea witch: to get marry without the ability to speak or die.
