Bacolod Ceres South Terminal Went on Lockdown, Bus Trips Suspended

Bacolod Ceres South Terminal Went on Lockdown

BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod Ceres south terminal went on temporary lockdown, which caused the suspension of southbound bus trips.

On Wednesday morning (August 7, 2019), the southbound bus trips in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental have been suspended after the bus company decline to acknowledge the police order reinstating a private security firm to guard the establishment.

Ceres chief finance officer Celina Yanson Lopez found out that the security guards of Armored Guards Negros Security Agency (AGNSA) have been removed from the south terminal.

Lopez made the announcement after Roy Yanson disagree to let AGNSA guards take over the security of the bus terminal as ordered by the Philippine National Police-Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Service (PNP-SOSIA).

Last month, majority of the Yanson siblings take over the Ceres Bus Company after voting out Leo Rey Yanson. The new management installed the guards from AY 76 Security Agency as replacement of AGNSA securities.

Police Col. Henry Biñas explained that the decision to lock down the terminal aims to avoid violence and further trouble as the tension gets higher.

“We explained to the passengers earlier that were very sorry because we have to maintain the peace and order. Daw maaway gid ang mga tawo,” Biñas said.

South Terminal’s drivers and conductors are yelling outside the barricaded terminal for the suspension of trips.
