First StarStruck Ultimate Female Survivor Jennylyn Mercado revealed the reason why she remained a Kapuso for 16 years now.
Network transfer among artists in the Philippine entertainment industry is quite normal. Stars crosses to the rival network and back. However, throughout her career in showbiz, Jennylyn chooses to be a Kapuso, then and now.
She rose to fame when she joined the talent search of the Kapuso network, StarStruck. Through her talent, she was able to pave her way to stardom. After winning the talent search, her career soar high .
Aside from acting, Jennylyn also ventured into singing and hosting. She is one of the hosts in the current season of StarStruck with Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
Recently, she signed a new contract with GMA but she refused to reveal until when. When asked about this, the actress said, “Hindi po puwedeng sabihin, confidential po, pero masasagot ko ‘yan, forever naman akong Kapuso. “
Based on the report from PEP, Jennylyn is always emotional when signing a new contract with her home network, especially when she was watching the audio-visual presentation prepared for her. She said that she has been under the Kapuso management for 16 years and those years are full of ups and downs.
The actress also shared that she will can no longer return to showbiz when she pregnant and had her child. However, GMA still opened new doors for her in the industry. “Tinanggap nila ako nang buong-buo at hindi nila ako pinabayaan hanggang sa makarating ako dito, kung nasaan ako ngayon,” she said.
For her, GMA did considers her more than just a talent of the network, based on the report. That is why she is so thankful for the opportunities that landed on her hands. “Yung sixteen years na yun na nasa GMA ako, dun ko napatunayan na hindi lang nila ako tinrato as an artist, tinrato nila ako na parang anak, na parang pamilya,” Jennylyn Mercado shared.
