Isko Moreno Wants Electric Powered Tricycle Off Manila Streets
ISKO MORENO – Mayor Isko Moreno ordered to pull out all the electric-powered tricycle in Manila.
Actor turned politician Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso is the new city mayor of Manila.
The 44-year-old politician is very active in his duties in the big city. He made lots of changes which was lauded by most of the people.
Senator Ping Lacson praised Isko Moreno through Twitter saying politicians like Moreno made him think about retiring soon.
He means the Filipino will be in good hands knowing good politicians like the mayor still exist.
However, former Philippine President and Mayor Erap Estrada criticized the younger politician. He said Moreno’s not considering the poor people who are trying to make a living in the streets of Divisoria.
Mayor Moreno did not take the veteran politician’s statements, he instead wished him good health and good luck with his future plans.
A few hours ago, Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) took to the social media to announce the new ordinance of Mayor Isko Moreno.
They share the news on the official Twitter page of MPIO. It states that the Manila mayor just ordered to pull out all the electric tricycles or e-tricycles in the city.
Mayor Isko Moreno’s decision was after Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General manager Jojo Garcia said electric tricycles are classified as “toys” by the government.
Meanwhile, the netizens reacted on the new city ordinance of the mayor. Here are some of their comments on the post:
@trainsmore: “That may not be a good idea; those e-tricycles are not toys, they are an environment-friendly, sustainable alternative to fuel-powered tricycles. I hope the good mayor will reconsider his decision.”
