A Child Watcher of Padoga Festival in Bulacan Drowned
CHILD – An 11-year-old kid drowned while watching Pagoda Festival held in Bulacan.
Usually, among the watchers of parades and events of city or municipal festivals are young ones. Children like to witness the different entertaining and significant events in line with the celebration.
However, in some cases, amid the joyful celebration, an accident or an unexpected incident occurred like during the celebration of Pagoda Festival in Bulacan.
Based on a recent report on GMA News’ Balitambayan, an 11-year-old child drowned while watching the Pagoda Festival in Bulacan.
The victim was identified as John Red dela Cruz. He slipped and fell into the river while the celebration was ongoing. He was with some other kids watching the procession when the incident happened.
Based on the report, dela Cruz was rescued and rushed to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. Another kid also fell into the river and, fortunately, he was rescued and brought to safety.
According to Francisco Roxas, the one who helped dela Cruz, he was working on a motorcycle at their house when he heard a kid asking for help. The kid of his sibling also came to tell him that someone drowned.
Roxas jumped into the river to help the kid but the sides of the river is slippery so he cannot get off from it right away. The spouse of his sibling helped him using a bamboo.
