DFA – On Friday, a solo protester appeared in front of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) onan incident on Reed Bank involving a Chinese vessel.

On June 9, A Chinese vessel hit a Pinoy fishing boat named FB GEM-VER and sailed away, killing 22 Filipinos. President Rodrigo Duterte dismisses the accident, calling the event a “maritime incident”.

It was not long he received reactions, especially from celebrities. A maritime expert even urged the government to investigate the incident further.

Recently, on a solo protester appeared in front of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

A report from ABS-CBN states that the lone protester carried a Philippine flag while protesting in front of the DFA entrance.

He urged the government to make an action regarding the Reed Bank Incident. However, after that, the DFA closed their gates.

As per the report, regarding the incident, at first the fishermen claimed that the Chinese vessel hit the boat on purpose. However, their tone changed when they had a meeting with Agricultural Secretary Manny Piñol.

Junel Insigne, the captain of the boat, asked for an apology for the alleged meeting with the President.
