Piñol Says It’s ‘Unfair’ to Accuse PH Gov’t Intimidates Pinoy Fishermen To Change Story
PH GOV’T – Agri Chief Manny Piñol said it’s unfair if the people are accusing the Philippine government to intimidate the story of the fishermen.
His statements gathered various reactions from the Filipino people including the politicians and celebrities.
The young Filipino children will be affected the most if the Philippines will go to war against China.
“Sinabi ng ating mahal na pangulo na hindi yun dahilan para tayo ay makipag-giyera sa China at tayo’y matunaw na…”
He also suggested that the people who wanted to attack China because of the coat collision should not drag the Pinoy Army.
“Wag na natin idamay pa yung Armed Forces, yung Pilipinas. Sarili nalang ninyong sikap kung talagang matapang kayo, edi patunayan niyo dun,” he added.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the captain of the Filipino fishing boat apologized to Duterte after he canceled his supposed meeting with him on Monday.
He also said he was not certain that the collision at the Reed Bank was intentional.
According to the report, Agriculture Secretay Emmanuel Piñol said the people should not accuse the government of influencing the fishermen to change their story.
“Let me just correct the impression that there was any attempt on the part of the government or this administration to intimidate the fishermen to change their story or come up with a lie that is favorable to the government,” said Piñol.
Based on the report, Piñol believed it’s unfair if the Philippine government will be blamed. He’s sure that Duterte administration did not intimidate the fishermen.
“That is unfair to well-meaning people in government right now,” he said.
