ERWIN TULFO – An official order from the Philippine National Police (PNP) calls for radio broadcaster Erwin Tulfo to surrender firearms.

The order was made a few days after it also orders to recall Tulfo and his brothers’ police escorts for reviewing. The review was conducted after his rants against former chief of the Army Rolando Bautista on during a segment on his radio show.

Rolando Bautista is now the state’s Social Welfare Secretary.

It was also revealed the Philippine National Police or PNP’s spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac that License To Own And Possess Firearms (LTOPF) that Tulfo is currently holding has already expired last May.

Banac announced the order in a statement he made during a press conference held at Camp Crame, Quezon City. Where he specifically said:

“The PNP has ordered for the recall or temporary custody or safekeeping of the firearms of Erwin Tulfo in as much as the license to own and possess firearms of Mr Erwin Tulfo has already expired.”

Banac also explained that after Tulfo’s LTOPF has expired, he has been prohibited to have the authority to keep and utilize his firearms. The prohibition still applies despite of his licenses still being valid.

Last Thursday, according to the police official, a notice was forwarded to Tulfo with an “open deadline” to surrender his firearms.

Tulfo, on the other hand, has appealed to PNP’s Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) and explained that he had the intention to process his LTOPF renewal.

In the presented case, Banac said that Tulfo then has the rightful option to keep his firearms while his LTOPF is under processing.

This is according to an article from Inquirer.

However, legitimate proof that he is processing the license must be presented by the radio personality. Banac explained:

“But he has to show that he’s working out the requirements to complete the application process. Otherwise, the CSG-FEO (Civil Security Group-FEO) may deem it proper to apply for a search warrant.”

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
