Sen. Rodante Marcoleta Still Unfit for Transfer
RODANTE MARCOLETA – The result of the chest X-ray of the Senator is out and he was found to have a “mild pneumonia”.
On Monday, Sen. Marcoleta was arrested by the authorities as confirmed by Secretary of Interior and Local Government (SILG) Jonvic Remulla. According to him, the arrest came after the Sandiganbayan Third Division denied the motion to quash filed by the Senator. Remulla said it was both a surrender and an arrest.
“Was he arrested or did he surrender? It was both. He went there voluntarily sa Sandiganbayan to file a motion to quash, subsequently when it was denied, we closed down the building, we arrived, we arrested him,” the Interior Secretary said.
Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is faced with a non-bailable plunder for allegedly not disclosing the P75 million he received as campaign donations in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).
According to the Senator, some of the donors behind the P75 million campaign donation are his friends who want to be anonymous. He claimed that he is ready to face the accusations against him.
Marcoleta even previously said that to be arrested and detained are “small sacrifices” for him to show the Filipino people their worth. He believes that Ombudsman Boying Remulla allegedly leads the accusations against him. The plunder case was filed by the Ombudsman.
Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was brought before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for his medical examination and his mugshots after he was arrested on Monday. However, the Senator complained of chest pain and his blood pressure spiked, thus, he was brought to the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital.
Marcoleta remains in PNP General Hospital until now. Based on ABS-CBN News, the result of his chest X-ray showed that the Senator is suffering from “mild pneumonia”.
Based on the post, the PNP General Hospital said Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is still not fit to travel. Furthermore, he still has to undergo some examination and the tests may be completed tomorrow.
