Vico, the son of showbiz veterans Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, won the mayoralty race in one of the prominent cities in Metro Manila.
Three years ago, he was the number one elected councilor of the city. The 29-year old politician revealed that unlike his parents, he is more inclined to politics than in show business.
Having a degree in Political Science, the young politician was able to study the system in the government and the history of politics in the Philippines.
During the 2016 election, Bongbong Marcos, from the prominent political clan and son of former President Ferdinand Marcos, ran for Vice President.
In that year, Vico expressed his belief regarding the involvement of the Marcoses in the Philippine politics.
He called out that people should stop changing the history.
“Huwag tayong magpaloko! Tama na ang historical revisionism!!! Ipaglaban ang HUSTISIYA!!! #MarcosNOTaHero,” his post stated.
