Vico Sotto Reveals Why He Didn’t Join Duterte’s Political Party

Here’s the stand of Vico Sotto regarding political parties

Pasig City mayor-elect Vico Sotto revealed the reason why he did not join the political party of President Rodrigo Duterte, the PDP-Laban.

The 29-year-old son of showbiz veterans Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes caught the attention of netizens, not only in Pasig, because of how he fought his strong political opponent.

He ended the 27-year of Eusebio clan in one of the prominent cities in Metro Manila.

Though he waited several hours before he was proclaimed, his supporters are happy that Pasig will experience #IbaNaman, his campaign slogan.

Vico is not just an ordinary young politician who wanted power in the government. He has a degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Management from Ateneo de Manila University.

He was able to file the Freedom of Information Ordinance that sought to disclose city public records upon the request of the citizens during his first term as councilor.

During a recent interview on ANC Headstart, Vico, who is now tagged as the “millennial mayor” was asked why he did not join the PDP-Laban of President Duterte.

“I think I’ll stay with my party. I’d rather be in a small party… Tahimik lang, focus on our local government,” the young politician said.

On the other hand, he said that that he is very much willing to support the program of the current administration.

He does not to be in the political party of the President in order to show support.

‘Kung ano man iyung programs, especially sa anti-drug ng President Duterte, we will support it. We don’t need to be in the same party necessarily,” Vico Sotto said.

Congressman-elect Ramon Romulo also has the same thought regarding this matter. For him, Filipinos should go beyond the branding of black and white in politics.
