Gretchen Fullido case continues as defendants face arrest.
GRETCHEN FULLIDO CASE – The accused, following the libel complaint filed by Gretchen Fullido with regards to harassment issue, now face arrest.
Kapamilya reporter Gretchen Fullido filed sexual harassment cases against former TV Patrol supervising producer Cheryl Favila and segment producer Maricar Asprec after allegedly receiving malicious text messages for her entailing “sexual innuendos” which accordingly eventually amounted to “requests of sexual favors”.
Moreover, her colleagues Ces Drilon and Marie Lozano also got involved as she filed libel charges against them for respectively experiencing victim-shaming and besmirching of her reputation.
Drilon, however, denied and refuted the accusation indicating on her official statement, “It pains me to have to issue this statement because women should support each other especially in an issue like sexual harassment.”
Meanwhile, after months of being on trial, the libel case against Drilon and Lozano was dismissed by the Prosecutor Office of the Quezon City based on a previous report. Following their junked case, Fullido’s camp went on to file a motion for reconsideration, thus, keeping the filed cases alive.
And now, signed by Quezon City Chief Prosecutor Vilma Barcellano whose initial decision reverted regarding her dismissal of cases, the resolution states that it has solid basis.
Seeing a probable cause on the complaint, a warrant of arrest was released as recommended by the chief prosecutor against the involved personalities such as Drilon, Lozano, and news executive Venancio Borromeo. According to PEP, the resolution has stated that they, “all acted in bad faith when they issued libelous statements against Fullido.”
And as for Drilon’s case, it indicated there that she “went farther when she said that complainant was willing to wear a bikini on television for TV Patrol’s ratings… It can be deduced from the words of respondent that she jumped into a conclusion or assumption that Complainant could easily ignore such unpleasant acts, as if she welcomed the same.”
