Gretchen Fullido camp not yet done after filed cases got dismissed.

GRETCHEN FULLIDO CAMP – After the filed cases of Gretchen Fullido against her fellow broadcasters, her legal camp filed a motion for reconsideration.

In a previous report, the Prosecutor Office of the Quezon City’s resolution over dismissed against Ces Drilon has stated, “In our point of view, the person who executed the same is merely stating her opinion or observation. Also, relaying to another person words which you previously heard is not defamatory and malicious.”

These issues all started when Kapamilya reporter Gretchen Fullido filed sexual harassment charges against former TV Patrol supervising producer Cheryl Favila and segment producer Maricar Asprec. They were accused of “sending her text messages that were loaded with sexual innuendos, which amounted to requests for sexual favors.”

Based on Inquirer’s report, the legal counsel of Fullido, Lawyer Eldrige Marvin Aceron, stated that they have filed the motion in order to keep the cases alive. In a statement, he indicated, “We have filed this afternoon our Motions for Reconsideration on the resolutions of the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office regarding the cases filed by Gretchen Fullido for Libel.”

He furthered, “Please do not be misled into believing that the cases have been dismissed with finality. The filing of the Motions for Reconsideration, ten days from receipt, keeps the cases alive.”

It was stated in the resolutions of Quezon City Prosecutors Office dismissing the charges citing the “doctrine of privileged communication” which means statements may not be actionable for libel if the some requisites are present.”

Moreover, “While we commend the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City in resolving the cases with dispatch, we regret that we cannot accept an erroneous resolution. Thus, we trust that our Motions for Reconsideration will be heard.”
