Ces Drilon breaks silence over the issue with Gretchen Fullido.

GRETCHEN FULLIDO – The female anchor Ces Drilon breaks silence over filed libel case by celebrity reporter Gretchen Fullido.

The celebrity patroller Gretchen Fullido shocked everyone and created a stir after filing sexual harassment and libel cases against two ABS-CBN executives and colleagues.

This is after the harassment accusations against Cheryl Favila, former TV Patrol executive producer, and Maricar Asprec, a segment producer.

According to the Facebook post of the reporter’s lawyer Marvin Aceron, she filed the cases at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on October 5.

Moreover, as stated in the post, she filed a libel case against Cecilia Drilon, Marie Lozano, and Venancio Borromeo for they have “besmirched her reputation”.

In a previous report, ABS-CBN News official statement regarding the matter has stated, “ABS-CBN takes sexual harassment seriously and does not condone such acts in the workplace or by its employees.”

And now, after the stirring controversy, the news reporter Ces Drilon has finally broken her silence about the charges against her.

As per a report from GMA, here is the full statement of Drilon.

It pains me to have to issue this statement because women should support each other especially in an issue like sexual harassment.

Throughout my life, I have been an advocate of women’s rights and women’s empowerment. As a victim of sexual harassment once before, it is unthinkable for me to say what Gretchen Fullido alleges I did.

I encourage and support women to exercise their right to come out with truthful stories of harassment and abuse and I would never belittle any such move.

I was asked to testify in an internal, confidential investigation into Gretchen’s allegations and some of what I said during the investigation has been distorted.

I reserve the right to consider legal proceedings against these false allegations and attack on my reputation. Again I would never belittle any woman coming out to speak of any abuse committed against her. It is against everything I stand for as a woman.
