Energy Department Ensures Uninterrupted Power Supply for May 2019 Elections

The Department of Energy (DOE) is now monitoring the energy situation in the Philippines to ensure the uninterrupted power supply on May 2019 elections.

On Saturday (May 11, 2019), the Energy Department is already checking the energy situation in the country.

DOE conducts the round the clock monitoring to ensure the uninterrupted power supply for the upcoming national and local elections on Monday (May 13, 2019).

Uninterrupted Power

In February 2019, the Energy Task Force Election led by the DOE has been convened to ensure the electricity supply.

The task force is composed of the following agencies:

  • National Electrification Administration (NEA)
  • National Power Corporation (NPC)
  • National Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO)
  • Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC)
  • Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM)
  • Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC)
  • National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP)
  • Manila Electric Company (Meralco)

The Energy Task Force Election is also working with various security groups such as the National Security Council (NSC), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for a peaceful election.

Uninterrupted Power

The electric companies have also presented their strategies to ensure the uninterrupted power services for Halalan 2019.
