There will be a liquor ban on May 12 to 13

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will impose a liquor ban on May 12 to 13 for the aim to have a peaceful Election 2019.

Filipinos are set to vote for the midterm election on Monday and the PNP and securing the safety of the public.

In line with this, PNP spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac said on Thursday that they will impose the ban on the aforementioned dates.

It will start from will 12:01 a.m. on May 12 (Sunday) and will end at 12 midnight of May 13 (Monday).

During a recent press conference the PNP Spokesperson said, “Sa May 12, magpapatupad ang PNP ng liquor ban bilang bahagi ng mga batas na pinaiiral sa eleksyon. Ito ay kabuuan na 48 hours ng liquor ban.”

He added that during the allotted period, people are not allowed to sell alcoholic beverages as well as drinking them.

Banac also said that banning alcohol is part of security preparations of the PNP for the upcoming May 13 election, based on the report from Inquirer.

“Bahagi ng security preparations na ipapatupad para magkaroon ng mapayapa at maayos na halalan sa Lunes,” the PNP Spokesperson said.
