PNP Buys New Equipment, Vehicles Worth Of P1.8 Billion

PNP – The Philippine National Police (PNP) purchased brand new equipment and vehicles worth P1.8 billion.

Currently, there are 170,000 PNP personnel in the country. They provide law enforcement all over the islands.

Each police officer plays a very significant role in the Philippine Government and to the people in the country.

PNP does not only keep discipline but they also guarantee the safety of all the citizens. In fact, they are willing to sacrifice their life during field operations.

Therefore, the government must provide them with the proper equipment and enhance their capability in capturing criminals.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde just presented the new vehicles and equipment of PNP at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City on Monday. The new equipment is worth P1.8 billion.

The new vehicles include 349 motorcycles, 107 units of patrol jeeps, and 2 new Airbus Helicopters.

According to the report, the new equipment includes 9,000 short firearms, 124 handheld radios, 42 light machine guns, and 3,045 bullet-proof vests.

The authorities also purchased 48 new bomb-sniffing dogs.

Based on the report, Oscar Albayalde stated that the new equipment and vehicles are acquired as part of the “Capability Enhancement Program” of the PNP.

He said this newly acquired equipment will surely improve the firepower and mobility assets of the police.
