Based on a report from Cebu Daily News, the director of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, Manuel Abrugena, was looking into the possibility that Christine Silawan was m*rdered by a cult.

During his press interview yesterday, his team was considering that the killers of the young girl were members of a cult.

The CPPO chief also disclosed that the cult was located in the hinterland villages of Danao City, Cebu.

According to the report, in January, a 62-year-old man from Danao City was killed like Christine Silawan. The farmer’s face was also peeled off and his upper chest was skinned too.

“There is a probability, pero so far, wala pang evidence na makokonekt yung pangyayari sa Danao City at yung lately sa Lapu-Lapu City,” said Manuel Abrugena.

Based on the report, the cult has been t*rrorizing Danao City’s upper barangays and they are still determining the accuracy of the reports they obtained.

“I cannot categorically say na may kinalaman yung kulto pero tinitignan pa namin kasi yung identities (members) ito ba ay kulto or simpleng kriminals naka-take lang nang drugs,” Manuel Abrugena said.
