Sister of the Filipino Couple who Died in Maldives Tells Emotional Story

FILIPINO COUPLE – The sister of the Filipino couple who died while snorkeling in Maldives shares story.

Last Monday, the Department of Foreign Affairs reported the tragedy that happened to the newlywed Filipino couple in Maldives.

 OFW Leomer and Erika Lagradilla died and drowned while snorkeling in the beautiful resort in Dhiffushi Island. The couple was supposed to be celebrating their honeymoon.

Following a previous article, the best friends of the Filipino couple were seeking help to bring back the dead bodies of Leomer and Ericka in the Philippines.

Their friend named Jinella Lagasca posted the news on her Facebook account asking for financial help. The family needed the amount of P1,268,000 to get their remains back.

In a report, the parents of the couple went to the DFA and to meet Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. to ask for help. It is not yet confirmed if the DFA will shoulder all the expenses to get the couple back in the country.

Earlier this morning, the sister of Leomer Lagradilla, Mhapolle Lagradilla was interviewed on GMA morning news Unang Hirit. The anchor requested her to share some story about the couple until the incident.  

Mhapolle emotionally recalled that the newlywed prepared their dream honeymoon wedding and she didn’t expect that it will end up tragically.

Mhapolle Lagradilla said the bodies of the Filipino couple are currently in a morgue in Dhiffushi Island. She said her cousin in Maldives confirmed the dead bodies of the couple.

On the video, she said the company where Leomer worked pledged that they will be financially supporting the family but it has to be confirmed yet. Their only focus now is to raise funds to transport Erika Lagradilla’s body back in the Philippines.
