Taekwondo Association Releases Statement on Ateneo Bullying Incident

ATENEO BULLYING INCIDENT – The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) released a statement on the viral bullying incident involving student of Ateneo de Manila.

Recently, the social media was taken by storm by a video of a student bullying his fellow student inside a males’ restroom. It was captured on camera.

The video taken showing the incident inside the restroom was posted on social media and it instantly hooked the netizens’ attention. It went viral and sparked concerns from the public.

One of the students involved in the viral Ateneo bullying incident was identified as a practitioner of the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA). He could be seen in the video hurting his fellow student.

The incident became intense after the Taekwondo practitioner made his fellow student choose between two options – “bugbog o dignidad“.

Recently, the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) released a statement regarding the Ateneo bullying incident involving one of its practitioners.

In its statement, the PTA clarified that they condemn “any form of misbehavior which includes harassment” and “bullying”. According to the association, it is not what they instill to their practitioners.

The PTA stated that modesty is one of the five tenets of Taekwondo that they teach all Taekwondo practitioners since the very first day that they start training.

“Our association reiterates its objective to teach all Taekwondo practitioners self-respect and respect for others.”

Through a statement regarding the Ateneo bullying incident, the Philippine Taekwondo Association expressed that they will respect the disciplinary action that the school will implement on the students involved in the incident.

Furthermore, the PTA will also conduct a probe.

  1. Monsour del Rosario knows what to do……belt doesnt mean anything if he behaves that way….there will always be someone who will teach this kid a lesson…..so he better change his ways.
