Court Finds Former Sen. Bong Revilla Not Guilty On Case Related To Pork Barrel Scam
BONG REVILLA – Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. moved out of the court happily following the verdict of the Sandiganbayan.
Former Sen. Bong Revilla is one of the politicians whose names were dragged in the controversial Pork Barrel Scam. It is the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
Other personalities who were accused include former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, and businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.
Former Sen. Bong Revilla faced plunder regarding his alleged involvement in the controversial Pork Barrel Scam which is tagged as one of the biggest corruption cases in the country.
Former Sen. Bong Revilla was detained in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame since 2014.
Usually, during special occasions, he would be allowed to be with his family for a few hours and he had to return to Camp Crame in accordance with the time set by the court.
Recently, the Sandiganbayan has released its judgment on the plunder case against the former Senator. The court found him not guilty.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, three justices of the court voted for the acquittal of the former Senator including Georgia Hidalgo, Geraldine Econg, and Edgardo Caldona.
According to the report, two justices disapproved the acquittal of Revilla from the plunder case. They are Justices Maria Theresa Dolores Gomez-Estoesta and Efren de la Cruz.
Inquirer took to the social media a video showing former Sen. Bong Revilla moving out from the court. Visibly, the former Senator went happily while the media and his supporters try to get a word from him.
