The Identities of 3 Policemen Found Guilty over Kian Delos Santos Case

KIAN DELOS SANTOS – Here are the identities of the three (3) policemen that were found guilty over the case of the late Kian Lloyd Delos Santos.

One of the deaths that caused public mourning in 2017 is the untimely passing of a 17-year-old Filipino student named Kian Lloyd delos Santos. It was brought to the court with contradicting police reports and witness testimonies.

Kian’s death was linked to the government’s campaign against drugs. It became controversial as the CCTV footage and the testimonies of the witness do not go in parallel with the report of the police authorities.

Three (3) policemen faced complaints over Kian Delos Santos’ death. Their identities are PO1 Jerwin Cruz, PO1 Jeremias Pereda, and PO3 Arnel Oares.

Based on a recent report on Inquirer, the Caloocan Regional Trial Court (RTC) recently found PO1 Jerwin Cruz, PO3 Arnel Oares, and  PO1 Jeremias Pereda were found guilty of taking away Kian Delos Santos’ life.

With regards to the planting-of-evidence complaint, the three (3) policemen were found not guilty of it. According to the report, each of them is sentenced to Reclusion Perpetua.

PO1 Jeremias Pereda, PO3 Arnel Oares, and PO1 Jerwin Cruz whose identities were revealed as they previously attended hearings were formerly of the police station in Santa Quiteria.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has previously talked to the parents of Kian Delos Santos. The President has also previously stressed that what happened is not in line with duties that must be performed by the police authorities.

For months, the family, relatives, friends, and the Filipino people who were alarmed by what happened to Kian cried out justice for the death of the 17-year-old student. The decision of the court over the case came after more than six months.
