Makati Mayor Binay Urges Deportation of Rude Foreigner After Assaulting Traffic Enforcers
Makati Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay ordered the quick deportation of a rude foreigner after assaulting the traffic enforcers in the city.
Previously, the video footage of a foreign man resisting arrest and even assaulting the traffic enforcers who apprehended him after committing a traffic violation spread like a wildfire online.
The foreign man identified as Yuksel Ibrahim, a Turkish national shown an arrogant behavior and disrespected the traffic enforcers during a confrontation along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue corner Bautista St. in Barangay Palanan.
Recently, Mayor Abby Binay ordered the legal department of Makati City to immediately deport the 24-year-old Turkish national.
Ibrahim is currently under the police custody facing charges of malicious mischief, resisting arrest, threat, and direct assault filed by the Southern Police District.
The Makati Mayor explained that the traffic cops apprehended the foreigner for driving along the street without a driver’s license.
“We will not tolerate Mr. Ibrahim’s disrespectful and abusive behavior. Our traffic enforcer, Michael Orcino, was at his designated post performing his duties when the incident happened. Mr. Ibrahim had no right to assault an officer who only asked to see his driver’s license. His behavior was arrogant and uncivilized. He should be deported and declared ‘persona non grata’,” Binay said quoted by Manila Bulletin.
Binay also lauded the traffic cop for doing his job properly despite the incident.
