The state weather bureau PAGASA has issued the latest updates about Tropical Depression Samuel as of3 pm today (November 21, 2018).

On Wednesday afternoon (November 21, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported the latest weather condition in the country due to Samuel.

PAGASA said that Tropical Depression Samuel was last spotted at 70 kilometers west southwest of Iloilo City or 120 kilometers east southeast of Cuyo, Palawan.

The weather agency reported that Samuel has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Samuel, the 19th tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines is now moving 40 kph towards the direction of Sulu Sea.

However, the following areas are still under signal no. 1:

  • Romblon
  • Southern part of Oriental Mindoro
  • Southern part of Occidental Mindoro
  • Palawan including Cuyo Island and Calamian Group of Islands
  • Northern part of Negros Occidental
  • Guimaras
  • Iloilo
  • Capiz
  • Aklan
  • Antique

The weather bureau reminds the residents in the affected areas to remain alert for the possible threats of the tropical depression.

Samuel was expected to leave PAR on Thursday evening (November 22) or Friday dawn (November 23).

Meanwhile, PAGASA was also closely monitoring a tropical storm outside the country’s vicinity with the international name “Man-yi”.
