Miss International 2018: Meet PH’s Bet, 21-Year-Old Ahtisa Manalo

Meet Ahtisa Manalo, country’s representative in the upcoming Miss International 2018 pageant.

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2018 – Meet Bb. Pilipinas-International 2018 Ahtisa Manalo, a lady cop-aspirant who will represent the country in this year’s Miss International.

Beauty pageants have been one of the fields where the Filipinos are very known at especially when Pia Wurtzbach got the crown in 2015 Miss Universe following the controversial mistake did by the host during the announcement of the winner.

And the Miss International pageant definitely holds a special place. The country has already won six times: Gemma Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Santiago (2013) and Kylie Verzosa (2016).

And this year’s representative for this year is the lady cop-aspirant Ahtisa Manalo, 21 years old, who bagged the Bb Pilipinas International 2018 title and crown during this year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

She is the youngest in this year’s batch of beauty queens and from the Candelaria in Quezon – a place known or its churches and tourist spot Mount Mayabobo.

Manalo is an accountancy graduate but dreams to become a cop after meeting a general when she was just 9 years old. Aside from the title, she is also a festival queen – she was named queen of the Niyogyugan Festival.

Targetting the 7th crown for the country, in a report from Manila Standard, Ahtisa said, “I have to be the best in every way I can, even when nobody is looking, to stand out but not overpowering others. To meet with as much people as I can and to consider the Japanese culture as they are known to be homogenous people.”

“I’ve been waiting for this moment, and I’m not going in Japan to settle for anything less than the title,” she added.
