Here’s the reason why Freddie Aguilar left PMPC awarding.
FREDDIE AGUILAR – The veteran OPM singer and songwriter Freddie Aguilar left PMPC Star Awards for Music event due to this reason.
One of the best musician-songwriters in the country is Freddie Aguilar – a fact that is undeniable. He is known for his rendition of “Bayan Ko” and his song “Anak” which garnered international fame and even translated to different languages.
Recently, the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music had a joint awarding of winners for 2017 and 2018.
It was accordingly held at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre in Resorts World Manila last September 9.
One of the awardees is Pambansang Bae Alden Richards who won three awards which are 2017 Pop Album of The Year, 2017 Male Pop Artist of the Year, and 2017 Album of the Year for “Say It Again.”
Also, Gary Valenciano received the Dangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Award 2018.
And supposedly, Freddie Aguilar is the one who won and will receive the Gawad Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Award 2017.
However, the OPM singer left the awarding ceremony during the Ex-Battalion, Chicsers, and Sasha were performing onstage.
People thought that he is just going to the comfort room but the singer never returned then to his seat, thus, leaving the event without his trophy.
In a report from PEP, the singer reportedly got bored and could not wait anymore.
The program has lasted until 2 A.M. in the morning. Also, hosts such as Xian Lim, Kim Chiu, Karylle, Aljur Abrenica, and Christian Bautista were apologizing for the ceremony ended late.
It is due to the numerous awardees and the performances which caused for the ceremony to end really late.
Moreover, someone from PMPC did not release any statement regarding the matter.
Other lifetime achievement awards recipients were Imelda Papin and Basil Valdez who received the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award 2017 and 2018 respectively.
