The camp of one of the convicted suspects of the slaying of the Chiong sisters, Paco Larrañaga, seeks clemency from the President Rodrigo Duterte.
Among the hottest topics of today is the mysterious case of the Chiong sisters, Jacqueline and Marijoy. It has been confusing and sensational to the people regarding their death.
The controversy was then relived and other angles about the case have emerged after a film entitles Jacqueline Comes Home: The Chiong Story has been out in the cinemas.
And the suspects tagged as Chiong 7, who accordingly did not undergo a fair trial before getting convicted, has recently received sympathy from the people.
In a previous article, there had been an online petition urging the president and the Supreme Court to reopen the case.
Thus, after the online petition has exceeded the number of expected people who signed, the camp of Paco Larrañaga sought clemency for Paco and the other suspects.
According to a report from the ABS-CBN, lawyer Sandy Coronel said on Sunday maintained that the client is innocent.
“None of these kids ay may record ng drugs. Nawala ‘yung drugs angle. Takot ba tayokasi ‘yun ‘yung link sapamilya Chiong? Nawala ‘yungstorya, ‘yung link nung drugs,” Coronel said.

The lawyer called Duterte to the possible affiliation of the Chiong sister’s father Dionisio with illegal drugs and with alleged big-time drug lord Peter Lim.
She further added as per the report, “Baka naman ngayon with this government’s renewed interest in curbing criminality na related to drugs, baka maungkat ulit ang investigation sa personality na ito.”
