PAGASA Closely Monitors 2 Low-Pressure Areas Outside PAR

The state weather bureau PAGASA is now closely monitoring two low-pressure areas outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

On Monday (June 18, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather condition affecting the country’s weather system.

The weather agency is now monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPA) that could possibly enter PAR.

Low-Pressure Areas

PAGASA said that one of the LPA was spotted at 675km west of Basco, Batanes and the other one is on the eastern side of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the western part of Luzon would still experience monsoon rain but there is no longer a tropical cyclone enhancing it.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, and Bataan would experience light to moderate rain.

The weather bureau has also warned the residents in the affected areas to be always prepared for possible flash floods in low-lying areas.

However, the rest of the country would not be affected by the southwest monsoon but could still experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
