CHR urges “It’s Showtime” to refrain from expressing cruel jokes.
SHOWTIME – The Commission On Human Rights (CHR) has called on the management and the producers of “It’s Showtime” to stop “inhumane and cruel” jokes.
Based on a previous article, the GirlTrend Erin Ocampo insensitive “ampon” joke has received various comments from the people. Thus, the management and the hosts issued a public apology about it.

However, the issue seemingly does not end there because as per published article of the Inquirer, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) on Sunday called out the management and the producers of ABS-CBN’s noontime show.
They urged them to be responsible in expressing their jokes to entertain their viewers.
“We call on ‘It’s Showtime’ to be more responsible in providing entertainment. Being funny at the expense of people under less favorable circumstances is inhumane and cruel,” CHR indicated in a statement.
Moreover, CHR accordingly said that being an adopted child is not a “matter of ridicule”.
“The Commission advises everyone, especially the entertainment sector, to refrain from promoting discrimination against, or perpetuating the stigmatization of, persons, especially those brought about under special circumstances of less privilege,” the commission added in the report.
