Immigration Data Shows Over 3 Million Chinese Nationals Allowed Entry To PH Since 2016
The immigration data shows that more than 3 million Chinese nationals have been allowed to enter the Philippines since January 2016 to May 2018.
The Bureau of Immigration released a data showing that a total of 3.12 million Chinese citizens have entered the country starting 2016 since President Rodrigo Duterte breaks all the hindrances with the ties between the Philippines and China.
The data shows that about 2.44 million came from mainland China while the remaining numbers were from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
In 2016, the arrivals of Chinese nations in the Philippines was 1.02 million but suddenly surged to 1.38 million by 2017.
Chinese nationals’ influx has already reached 717, 638 starting January to May 2018.
President Rodrigo Duterte made an unbelievable shift in the country’s foreign policy after assuming office in June 2016.
Duterte berated its traditional treaty ally the United States and cozies up to Beijing, China, which garnered various reactions from the Filipino people.
However, most foreigners who were denied to enter the Philippines are Chinese nationals. About 3,722 Chinese citizens were excluded from 2016 to 2017.
