Delivery Rider Caught Stealing Returned Clothing Items Inside Packages
A business owner personally caught a delivery rider who was allegedly stealing clothing products from returned orders and replacing some items inside the packages.
According to the seller, their clothing business had been experiencing problems for a long time whenever returned items were delivered back to their shop. Some packages arrived with missing products, while others contained different objects instead of the original clothing items.
At first, the business owner and staff did not immediately suspect anyone. However, as more complaints and unusual returns continued to happen, they decided to closely monitor their operations and review footage from their security cameras.
After checking the CCTV recordings, they allegedly discovered a pattern that pointed to a delivery rider who regularly handled their orders. The footage reportedly showed suspicious activities involving returned packages, leading the business owner to believe that products were being taken before the items were brought back to the shop.
The seller said the problem had been happening repeatedly and that the losses had become huge over time. Based on their observations and gathered evidence, they suspected that the incidents may have been taking place for more than a year.
The business owner personally confronted and caught the rider believed to be responsible. The suspect was later turned over to authorities for proper investigation.
The incident was brought to the Makati City Police, where the rider is now facing several complaints related to the alleged incidents. Authorities are expected to conduct a deeper investigation to determine the full extent of the reported losses and verify all evidence presented.
The business owner also called on the logistics company involved to strengthen its monitoring and screening of employees. They expressed hope that affected sellers would be compensated for any proven losses and that stricter measures would be implemented to prevent similar incidents.
Meanwhile, the logistics company has reportedly coordinated with authorities as the investigation continues.
