Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson is one of those who defended the controversial ‘Duterte kiss’. She was hooked on an issue with Kris Aquino after she involved the late father of the actress in the pursuit of defending the President.

Recently, FDCP chairperson Liza Diño has expressed her side on the issue involving Pres. Duterte and a Pinay supporter abroad. Based on a report in GMA News, Diño stressed at the launching of Cinemarya that there is really a need for discourse.

Diño is one of the members of the executive committee for the film festival that aims to showcase women empowerment.

“Kailangan nating mag-usap kasi iba’t-iba talaga ang opinion natin… Ang nangyayari sa atin, we impose our own beliefs on people who think differently and I think having these kinds of discussion would allow for a more tolerating atmosphere,” she said.

Based on the report, Liza Diño stressed that it must be considered that a woman has the right to think and to do what she wanted to do. She expressed that the context on how the woman sees it depends on the person herself and no one has the right to say whether it is right or wrong.

Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Marjorie Jalosjos also expressed her side on the issue. According to the DILG Assistant Secretary, everyone is entitled to his own opinion with regards to the issue.

She stressed that it is seemingly visible that the President and the Pinay supporter like what they did. Based on the report, she also expressed that since the President was still a Mayor of Davao City, he usually put gimmicks when he is standing on the stage.

Jalosjos clarified that she is not saying that what Pres. Duterte is doing is right or the opinions of the other people are wrong.
