Duterte Raises Possibility Of Removing Another Government Official

Pres. Rody Duterte Gives Warning To His Appointees

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Roa Duterte gave a warning to the people he appointed for office and raised the possibility of removing another official from his or her post.

Since the election campaign when he was still a candidate for the presidency, Pres. Rody Duterte has always been vocal about his pursuit to clean the government from corrupt officials and leaders. It is another goal of his administration aside from eradicating the existence of drugs in the country.

Based on a report, recently, he has given a suggestion to two assistant secretaries coming from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DWPH) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) following allegations of corruption.

According to Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Pres. Duterte advised DPWH Assistant Secretary Tingagun Umpa and DOJ Assistant Sec. Moslemen Macarambon Sr. to leave their posts.

The 73-year-old President reportedly raised the possibility at the inauguration of a project in Davao City. The said project concerns about the widening of the bridge.

According to the report, the President recalled his warning to those officials he appointed to stay away and do not talk to anyone from his family and relatives.

“The moment I learn about it, it’s the end. Out you go. That has always been my warning for everyone. I might fire another one when I return to Malacañang,” he reportedly said in Filipino.

Previously, Pres. Duterte removed Assistant Transportation Secretary Mark Tolentino after the latter allegedly discussing the Mindanao railway to the presidential sister. According to the Chief Executive, he already told them not to do it as he does not like it.
