PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson Returns Her Government Service Award Back To UST
PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has returned her controversial Thomasian Award for government service back to the University of Santo Tomas.
Over the past few days, the Thomasian Alumni Award given by the UST Alumni Association Inc. (UAAI) to PCOO Asec. Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson has been the headlines of several local news outlets and other social media pages.
The University of Santo Tomas Central Student Council (UST-CSC) even expressed their disappointment and dismay over the award given to Mocha Uson for allegedly being an avid spreader of fake news.
On Wednesday (January 24, 2018), the 35-year-old blogger has returned her Thomasian Alumni Award for Government Service to UST. She also said that the associated accept the award after returning it.
“Kanina lang po nasauli na. Tinanggap po nila. Isinauli ko naman po iyon dahil hindi naman po tayo nanghingi ng award na iyon eh,” Uson said quoted by Inquirer.
The former lead singer of Mocha Girls explained that she had only accepted the award because it was given to her and she never asked for it.
Uson also urged the public to stop criticizing Henry Tenedero, the president of the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association Inc. (USTAAI).
