44 persons got buried in a landslide due to typhoon Urduja.

TYPHOON URDUJA – Approximately 44 persons got buried alive and numerous went missing due to the Typhoon Urduja in Biliran.

According to a report from The Philippine Star, Chief Ins­pector Lilibeth Morillo of Biliran Provincial Office said that there were 30 persons died after being buried alive in a landslide wherein the three of them had already been retrieved.

Estimated, Morillo indicated that at least five families got affected by the disaster on Saturday night in Barangay Lucsoon.

Authorities had already conducted a search and rescue operation.

Vehicles could not also pass by on some roads particularly the Caray-Caray bridge of Naval town.

Jun Basilio of Biliran Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) confirmed that 14 persons died and 26 others are missing.
