Youth From Silliman’s Psychology Society Sells Metal Straw, The Good Environment Trend In Dumaguete
The young people of Silliman’s Psychology Society in Dumaguete were selling metal straw to replace the use of plastic straw.
Nowadays, the increase of plastic waste is one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. It also causes water pollution and flash floods in highly polluted areas.
The increasing waste pollution in the world also causes damage to the ozone layer, which affects the world’s climate and temperature.
To prevent those incidents, a certain group of young people in Dumaguete, Negros finds an alternative solution to reduce the plastic waste in the country.
A Facebook user named Ian Rosales Casocot has shared a post introducing the metal straw, which is one of the good environmental trends in Dumaguete.
Casocot wrote in his post that the metal straw is a big thing in their city as young people in the restaurants and cafes took their metal straw and politely refusing to use plastic straws.
The metal straw was also called as “Straw Wars” in Dumaguete I sustaining the efforts to replace the plastic straws.
The kids from Silliman’s Psychology Society were selling the metal straws for P65 on straight/bent straw, while milk tea straws are amounting P85, with free pouch and brush.
